Telangana: IMD predicts light to moderate rain for next 3 days

In huge a relief from the scorching heat of April, the India Meteorological Department has predicted that the isolated spots over Telangana are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall for the next three days.

IMD has reported that the trough and wind discontinuity between Vidarbha and South Interior Karnataka now runs west between Vidarbha and North Interior Karnataka across Marathwada at 0.9 km above mean sea level.

The lightning and gusty winds with a wind speed of 30-40 kph are very likely to accompany thunderstorms in isolated places in a few districts of Telangana, according to A Sravani, Scientist C In-charge, IMD Hyderabad.

The weather in Hyderabad for the next 24 hours will be partly cloudy. Thunder clouds may form in the evening or overnight. Surface winds are probable to be Southerlies or South-Easterlies with wind speeds at around 06-10 kph, Sravani further added.

The highest along with the lowest temperatures in the state are expected to be 39 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Following days of hot and dry weather, the State can now finally look forward to a bit of relief from the extremely harsh weather.

Earlier, the IMD had also issued a yellow alert from April 14 to 18 stating that the state could expect light to moderate rain or thundershowers.

Adilabad, on the other hand, continues to remain blisteringly hot. Temperatures had reached as high as 43 degrees Celsius on Thursday in the district, according to a weather report by the Telangana State Development Planning Society. For the past two days, the temperature has consistently hovered between 40 and 43.5 degrees Celsius in the district.

For the next three days, the district can experience temperatures anywhere between 39 and 42 degrees Celsius.
