Telangana Reports 502 Fresh Cases as Tests Drop Further

Hyderabad: On Monday, Telangana reported just 502 COVID-19 cases as the number of daily tests dropped further because of the weekend and festival.

The labs in the state-directed just 17,296 tests throughout the last 24 hours. This is under 50 percent of the sample tested on weekdays.

The new cases pushed the state’s count to 2,57,876. Three individuals surrendered to the infection during the same period, increasing the death count to 1,407.

The fatality rate stays 0.54 percent against the national average of 1.5 percent.

Officials stated the percentage of deaths because of COVID-19 was 44.96 while the remaining 55.04 had comorbidities.

Greater Hyderabad recorded 141 new cases. Rangareddy recorded the second most number of cases at 72 followed by Medchal Malkajgiri,33, Sangareddy,26, Bhadradri Kothagudem,23, Karimnagar,22, and Siddipet,21.

As indicated by the daily media bulletin issued by the office of the head of public health and family welfare, 1,539 individuals recuperated from the infection during the 24-hour time frame that ended at 8 p.m. Sunday.

The state’s recuperation rate increased further to 93.87 percent as against the national average of 93.2 percent.

The complete number of ongoing cases remains at 14,385 of which 11,948 are in-home or institutional isolation.

The aggregate number of tests mounted to 48,91,729. Eighteen government-operated laboratories, 50 private labs, and 1,076 Rapid Antigen test centers are directing the tests.

Out of 17,296 samples tested throughout the last 24 hours, 16,310 samples were tested in the government-operated labs and 986 in private.

Samples tested per million populace ratio rose further to 1,31,427.

The daily testing objective for the state is 5,600 per day according to the World Health Organization (WHO) benchmark of 140 for each million per day.

Out of 2,57,374 complete positive cases up until this point, 70 percent, 1,80,513, were asymptomatic while the remaining 30 percent, 77,363, were symptomatic.

The information reveals that 63.92 percent of those tested COVID-19 positive so far were aged between 21-50 years. As many as 22.91 percent were aged over 51 years. The positive cases include 13.18 percent who were under 20 years.

The bed status in the 61 government-operated hospitals treating COVID-19 patients shows that 7,551 out of 8,561 beds are empty.

In 220 private hospitals, 6,814 out of 8,241 beds are empty.
