Temperatures are expected to rise on April 1 and 2 in parts of Telangana

Temperatures could gradually increase over Telangana by 2ºC to 3ºC in isolated pockets in the coming days, according to the IMD.

Telangana is preparing for a heatwave, as the India Meteorological Department has predicted higher temperatures over the next couple of days. According to the IMD, there may be an increase of 2ºC to 3ºC in maximum temperatures at isolated pockets over Telangana despite dry weather over the state.

Telangana’s IMD has stated that heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated pockets in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial and Kamareddy districts. There is a possibility of heatwave conditions on April 2 in isolated pockets in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, and Kamareddy districts of Telangana. IMD definition: A heatwave occurs when the maximum temperature of a place crosses 45°C or when there is a change of 4.5°C to 6.4°C from the normal temperature.

IMD also issues alerts for heatwaves, ranging from green, yellow, orange to red. IMD has issued an orange warning (to be prepared) for six districts (Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, and Kamareddy) and a yellow warning (to remain updated) for one district (Jagtial) for April 1 and 2, 2022.

Over the next few days, Hyderabad may see some relief. Partly cloudy skies are expected to prevail, but thunderclouds are likely to develop during the evening or late at night. Hyderabad and its surroundings will likely experience maximum and minimum temperatures of 40°C and 24°C, respectively.

Tuesday, as of 8.30 AM, Adilabad was predicted to experience the highest temperatures with a maximum temperature of 41.3ºC, followed by Nizamabad with a maximum temperature of 40.5ºC. IMD predicted that Hyderabad’s maximum temperature would be around 39ºC on Tuesday.

T Balaji, an independent weather blogger, reported that Chaparala in Adilabad recorded the highest maximum temperature of 43.3ºC. On Tuesday, temperatures in some parts of Hyderabad reached over 40ºC, including Kukatpally and Bandlaguda.
