Hinting towards initiating criminal procedure against encroachments over Wakf Land in the city and state, the Chairman Telangana State Wakf Board Mohd. Saleem said, “We will give more teeth to the existing task force reinforcing it with additional staff members including inspectors, sub-inspectors and constables to prevent the encroachments with impromptu action.”
The Chairman while talking to media in his office today has claimed that “Atleast 500 registrations of properties, that come up over wakf land were cancelled. The board is much closer to cancel more 400 to 500 registrations and it will do so it very soon. The matter is in serious consideration and soon will going to convene a meeting to take a call in this regard.”
“We will go the whole hog against the encroachments and ensure cancellation of registrations of properties that build on wakf lands,” he said adding that “The board will chase after the land sharks and will start booking criminal cases against them soon, be they ever so influential.”

The chairman also informed that Wakf Board will lease out their building for setting up of TEMRIS institutions that would fetch revenue in return. As long as the schools run, the board would get the rent and if any institution winds up, the vacated property will remain under the control of the board at last.
“The board will provide skilled development training to atleast 100 minority students on its own expenses. A resolution has been passed in this regard in today’s meeting. The team of officials will scrutinize the eligible candidates interested to go for the skilled development program,” asserted Mohd.Saleem.
