11000 liters of milk products pour for the foundation ceremony of a temple

Hundreds of men around a pit were seen holding big cans and pouring curd, milk, and desi ghee totaling 11000 liters for the foundation ceremony of Devnarayan temple which is constructed in the Jhalawar district of Rajasthan.

Ramlal Gujjar the spokesperson of the temple construction committee said “We have collected 11,000 liters of milk, desi ghee and curd from the Gujjar community members and even others for the foundation ceremony of the Devnarayan temple as a mark of reverence for deity Lord Devnarayan,”

Out of 11000 liters, There was 1 quintal of desi ghee,1500 liters of curd, and the rest was milk and it has a total cost of nearly Rs.1.5 lakh, Ramlal Gujjar said. We had asked the Gujjar community members a day before the ceremony and the people gave abundantly, Ramlal said.

When asked for Ramlila if it’s a mandatory tradition of the Gujjar community to pour milk for the foundation ceremony, Ramlal said it is not mandatory but it has been practiced few times in the past as well.

When asked to Ramlal, isn’t this tradition did not seem like a waste of resources, Ramlal said “It is not at all a waste as in Gujjar community we pour some milk on deity Devnarayan as it protects our cattle,”.

We owe everything to the lord Devnarayan so we have donated milk products to him at the foundation ceremony, he said.

The Devnarayan temple in Jhalawar district of Rajasthan. Is being built at a cost of Rs. 1crore and will be constructed in two years.
