GHMC Polls 2020 To Be Held On December 1

Hyderabad: The schedule for (GHMC) Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections has been issued here on Tuesday.

Parthasarathy, Election Commissioner, while issuing the schedule, said that the filing of nominations would start from November 18. Elections for the GHMC would be conducted on December 1 and counting would be conducted on December 4. Results would be announced the same day.

The final day for filing of nominations is November 20 and the scrutiny of nominations papers would be held on November 21. The final day for withdrawal of nomination is November 24.

It is to consider that the TRS and Opposition parties are completely prepared for the elections. The KCR government declared sops to different sections of the society taking the GHMC polls into account. The party heads and corporators had laid foundation stones for different advancement works and furthermore inaugurated the completed programmes.

All the TRS MLAs have been requested to guarantee that they should guarantee triumph in all the divisions under their purview.

There are about 150 divisions in GHMC. The elected corporators will therefore elect the Mayor.

In the previous GHMC polls, TRS had won 99 divisions.

Polling will begin from 7 am to 6 pm on December 1. The Bandobust plan includes the deployment of around 25,000 to 30,000 police personnel for GHMC elections. GHMC elections will be conducted according to ECI issued COVID-19 rules, everyone wearing face masks, sanitizers and keeping up social distancing. Election code came in to effect immediately.
