New AICC incharge met with internal differences within Telangana Congress

On his maiden visit to the state after taking charge as AICC Telangana incharge, Manikrao Thakare was met with internal differences within the State Congress.

Following his meeting with the AICC incharge, Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stated that he would not like to sit with those who had lost elections four to five times.

The Congress MP said the show cause notice issued by the party for an alleged act of indiscipline was no longer an issue because the video circulated on social media turned out to be fake.

In an address to the media, the Congress MP also criticized the absence of MLAs Seethakka, Veeraiah, and Jagga Reddy from the meeting with the AICC incharge on Wednesday.

“The TPCC committees constituted recently have no significance for me,” said Venkat Reddy.

His remark comes after a group of senior leaders recently raised a revolt banner against Revanth Reddy for filling party panels with his loyalists. The crisis compelled the party’s central leadership to intervene and replace Manikam Tagore as state incharge with Manikrao Thakare in order to restore order.

On the other hand, Manikrao Thakare told media persons that all senior leaders were working together to strengthen the party and that there was no crisis.

Thakare, who stated that this was a critical period in State politics, urged all party leaders and workers to fight together against the BJP and the ruling BRS.

Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra has received a positive response. He described the ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo’ campaign as an extension of the current campaign, and stated that he would again be visiting Telangana on January 20.

It was also reported that Thakre also met with AICC secretaries and took their feedback on the ongoing crisis in the party.

Thakre has been given a difficult task in preparing the Congress in Telangana for the Assembly elections at the end of the year and Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
