Revanth Reddy Launches Food Distribution Program at Gandhi Hospital

Congress party MP A. Revanth Reddy today launched Rs. 5 a meal distribution program at Gandhi Hospital in the city. The program has been launched to provide food to the Covid patients their family members and doctors and Paramedical staff of the hospital.

Speaking on the occasion Revanth said that they would feed 1000 people every day. He also said that the program had been launched following the orders of the party National President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. He said that the family members of the Covid patients were not getting food due to the ongoing lockdown.

He alleged that the state government had not done anything for the Covid patients and their family members even during the first wave. He said that they had taken up several programs on behalf of the youth congress wing of the party.

Reddy alleged that the state government was arresting the youth congress leaders in order to obstruct their social service activities. He alleged that the Gandhi Hospital did not have basic amenities despite being Covid hospital.

He said that they would continue the program till the completion of the lockdown and added that they would charge only Rs. 5 per meal. Commenting on the administration of the vaccine, he said that the state did not have a vaccine for the administration for the next two days.

He claimed that the central government was increasing the duration between the two vaccines due to their shortage. He said that the state was facing a severe shortage of bed oxygen cylinders and Remdesivir injections. Targeting the task force constituted by the state government he alleged that the task force had members who are good at collecting commissions from pharma companies.
