101 Children Rescued, Cyberabad Police

Hyderabad: Cyberabad, which works throughout the year to rescue children from child labour, begging, rag-picking, runaways and vulnerable children rescued 101 including 77 boys and 24 girls from March 20 to May 15, 2019.

In a pressnote here today, the Cyberabad police said 101 (77 boys, 24 girls) children were rescued from rag picking, child labour and begging and 95 children ie 71 boys and 24 girls went sent to the Shelter Homes. Out of the 101 rescued children, 38 boys and 16 girls belong to other States. They said 25 cases were registered against those using children for labour.

The children were produced before the Child Welfare Committee and sent to various Shelter Homes. Children in the Shelter Homes are being sent to school. Operation Aasra has been launched by Cyberabad Police on March 20, 2019 and people above 60 years, who are found begging and in a helpless condition were being rescued by Cyberabad Aasra Teams.

They are sent for rehabilitation to the Anand Ashram run by the Prisons Department. Men destitutes are sent to Chanchalguda prison and women to Charlapalli Anand Ashram. They are provided accommodation, food, recreation and education. Some of them, who can work are provided work to earn income.
