11 lakhs out of 23 lakhs for Voter cards cleared: CEO

Hyderabad: As many as 23 lakhs of applications have come for voter ID cards from youth and we have sorted out 11 lakh of them so far and the rest will be done by Oct 4, CEO Rajath Kumar said.

Talking to media persons at Secretariat here he said that the youth and students have applied for the voter identity cards which will be given to all those genuine and eligible.

Reacting on the Congress leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy comment the EC’s job is being done by caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for giving leaks to the newspapers which speculated that the Assembly elections will be held likely on Nov 24 he said that the media has to avoid such writings and take clarification before.

The CEO also said that 100 per cent of EVMs have been reached to all polling stations and about 11000 out of 33000 VVPATS are yet to be reached. (NSS)
