15 lakh CCTV cameras to be installed across Telangana

State Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali stated on Friday that the Telangana Police Department has remained vigilant in order to foil any attempt by extremists and terrorists to resurrect their activities.

It has worked hard to prevent extremists, terrorists, anti-social elements, communal forces, and white-collar criminals from operating, he said.

Mahmood Ali, speaking after paying rich tributes to police martyrs at the Police Commemoration Day held at Goshamahal Police Stadium, said the State government has ensured communal harmony in Hyderabad over the last eight years by preventing communal tensions.

M Mahender Reddy, Director General of Police, stated that the police were working with the aim to install 15 lakh CCTV cameras across the state. To combat cybercrime, the police are also implementing CCTNS 2.0, which is based on futuristic technologies, as well as establishing the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C).

The Chief Minister recently inaugurated an integrated command and control center built at a cost of Rs 600 crore for the effective maintenance of peace and law and order, he said.

“The Telangana Police aims to install 15 lakh CCTV cameras across the State even as six lakh have been set up in Hyderabad so far. It has installed over 10 lakh CCTV cameras across the State in villages and towns with public cooperation,” the police chief said.

He stated that Hyderabad has maintained its position as the most livable city in the world for several years due to improved law and order.

Earlier, in his message, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao stated that the sacrifices of police martyrs who laid down their lives for the safety of citizens, the prevention of crime, and the maintenance of law and order are immortal.

He paid tribute to the police martyrs on the occasion of Police Martyrs Memorial Day.

Chief Minister KCR stated that the role of the police in promoting Telangana as a peaceful state is immense. He stated that the state’s peaceful atmosphere is critical to Telangana’s development.

KCR stated that the command center’s cutting-edge technology is assisting the state police in excelling and emerging as the best in the country.
