20000 liters of drinking water will be supplied free of cost :KTR

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration,  Industries and IT Minister,  KT Rama Rao today said that 20000 liters of drinking water will be supplied free of cost to people of the city from January. 

The Minister has directed that those who get 20000 liters drinking waters are needless to pay bills from December.  They will get waters and will not pay bills from January onwards, the minister remarked. 

The Minister directed the officials to prepare the report for not collecting bills from the people who draw 20000 liters of drinking water. He held a crucial meeting with the water board, GHMC, and others on the water facility.  KTR sought the water board to prepare modalities and an action plan for the purpose. 

The Minister will hold another meeting to take a call on the same after taking a nod from Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.  He stated that KCR has announced recently to offer 20000 liters of drinking water free for the people in the city.  Prepare the plan comprising details of people who will draw 20000 liters of waters he asked the officials. 

He instructed the officials to get the report for offering free waters from  December itself.  There will be no bills to be collected from these beneficiaries,  KTR clarified.  To keep the promise the water board,  civic body and others should coordinate for a smooth and hassle-free supply of water to the city residents. 

The government has plans to get Aadhar details of people who will get the waters free of cost.  The government he said will keep the promise of KCR and a plan is to be perfect before implementation,  he said. The minister said that another meeting will be held to take a call soon in this, regard. The officials have to prepare the report for not collecting bills from the people who draw 20000 liters of drinking water. 

KTR made it clear that they get permission from the Chief Minister on this unique plan to offer free waters.  (NSS)
