50.00 Lakhs Of Plantations Under TKHH For The Year 2020-21

Hyderabad: Telangana Ku Haritha Haram (TKHH) is the flagship program of the Chief Minister, Telangana State to increase the Green Cover, Aesthetic value, control the pollution and temperature. GHMC is taking up tree plantations under various categories like Avenue Plantations, Colony Plantations, Institutional Plantations, Open Space Plantations, Graveyard Plantations etc., more specifically as part of Telangana State Government’s flag ship programme of Telangana Ku Haritha Haram (TKHH).

During 2020-21, GHMC has prepared an action plan of 50.00 Lakhs of plantations under TKHH Programme, for all Zones. The Plantations are proposed for Avenue Plantations along Major Roads & Minor Roads, Colony Road Plantations, Open Space Plantations, Institutional Plantations, Lake Plantations, Nala Plantations & Musi Plantations etc.,

This year avenue plantations & green curtains will be taken up in an organized manner along all the roads in all zones. The lakes in the GHMC area will be taken up with very dense plantations on bunds and buffer areas. Planting will also include all the nalahs and along the Musi River.

All the GHMC open spaces will be converted into Tree Parks by planting trees and providing walking tracks. The open spaces will be converted as public spaces with a green environment. The institutional areas also being taken up for planting.  The colony roads and other available areas will be planted by involving RWAs and with their active participation.

GHMC is also taking up of Miyawaki Plantations this year to develop dense green lung spaces in the City. The action plan also includes the planting of trees, hedges, and shrubs under flyovers, medians and parks, etc.,

GHMC is developing (3) urban forest parks at Suraram, Madannaguda & Nadergul where very dense plantations with native forest trees will be done along with other amenities.
