Hyderabad: “People are lucky to have K Chandrasekhar Rao as their Chief Minister in Telangana, who achieved statehood after a long struggle”, Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao has said.

Speaking on the development of roads under his department, the minister said they were spending Rs 4,000 crore for construction of national highways. The new highways will ensure better transportation of goods and speedy growth of business activity and economic progress, he added. He also affirmed that his department has taken up work on highways worth Rs 2,600 crore in combined Medak district. In addition to that, 650-km works of new highways planned will be taken up soon.

The minister showered praises on the Chief Minister for his vision for allround development of the State. “KCR has launched Rythu Bandhu scheme offering Rs 4,000 per acre towards crop investment, which was first of its kind in the country. This can well be attributed to the great and long term vision of the Chief Minister”, he said, adding that KCR was going to launch another big scheme to provide Rs 5 lakh insurance facility to the farmers in the State.
