The Kachiguda police today arrested a pan shop owner Upendra Varma on the charge of raping and cheating a software professional after promising to marry her.
Kachiguda Inspector S Satyanarayana said a case was registered against Upendra Varma, a married man, under Sections 376 (rape) and 417 (punishment for cheating) IPC. The complainant told the police that the accused Upendra Varma gave her drug laced sweet pan and raped her repeatedly since four years.
The victim said the accused befriended her through the social media and drugged her through sweet pan and raped her several times. She claimed that the accused also videographed the sexual acts and blackmailed her. Unable to bear the mental torture, the victim lodged a complaint with the police.
However, the accused denied that he gave her sweet paans & mixed with sedatives and sexually assaulted her. (NSS)
