Abducted MPTC gunned down by Maoists

Charla:  Maoists of Charla-Sabari area committee in the District, who abducted Charla mandal Peddamidisileru village MPTC Nallari Srinivas Rao on June 8, gunned him down on Friday accusing him of being a police informer. The extremists left his body on the Errampadu-Puttapadu road and left his two-wheeler at the spot.

On being informed by the locals, the police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. They also found a leaflet at the place in the name of Charla-Sabari area committee Secretary Sarada. In the leaflet, Sarada claimed they encountered Nallari Srinivasa Rao as he was working as a police informer. She also alleged that Rao joined hands with Intelligence police to wipe out the party from the tribal areas. She also alleged that Rao was also building a network of informers in the tribal villages. She said Rao hatched plans to damage their reputation by establishing an organization called “Tribal Civil Society”. She said they killed Rao as he turned out to be an obstacle for them. (NSS)
