Hyderabad: The accused Ramnath @ Sai, aged 22 years, R/o Devender Nagar, Jagadgirigutta, was convicted by the SC/ST Court, LB Nagar in the city, for abusing the victim in the name of caste and outraging her modesty. The investigation was done by PS Jagathgirigutta under the supervision of PV. Padmaja, DCP Balanagar and Court Monitoring Cell of Women & Children Safety Wing Cyberabad Commissionerate.
The facts of the case are: Accused Ramnath, on December 5, 2015, at about 1830 hrs, the victim who was studying intermediate 2nd year was waiting for an Auto at bus stand Gajularamaram. In the meantime, Ramnath came to her and caught hold her hand and forced her to accept his love otherwise he will pour acid on her face and threatened that he will kill her family members and abused her in the name of her caste in public. The mother of the accused, Eshwaramma, aged 65 years, also abused the victim’s mother in filthy language. The accused was arrested and sent to judicial custody.
In this case, N.Narsimha Reddy ACP Balanagar after completion of investigation filed a charge sheet in the SC/ST Court LB Nagar. During the trial yesterday, the Judge Smt. T.Jayalaxmi convicted the accused Ramnath @ Sai with Rigorous Imprisonment for 5 years and a fine of Rs. 1,000/- and Eshwaramma with Rigorous Imprisonment for 1 year and fine of Rs. 1,000/, a police press note said.
