Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is a Central University, established by an Act of Parliament with all India jurisdiction in 1998. The main campus is in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. MANUU is recognized as a major higher education service provider across the remote areas of the country for marginalized and first generation learners of Urdu medium through its regular and distance mode programs.
University mandate is to promote and develop the Urdu language; to impart vocational and technical education in Urdu medium; to provide wider access to people desirous of pursuing programs of higher education and training through teaching on the campus as well as through distance mode and to focus on women education.
Directorate of Distance Education (DDE):
To achieve its mission of bringing socially, economically, educationally and culturally marginalized sections of society into the mainstream, the University has initiated distance mode programmes from its year of inception in 1998 through Directorate of Distance Education (DDE).
MANUU’s Directorate of Distance Education, operates through Regional Centre (RC) and Sub Regional Centres (SRC) located in 11states of India. The Regional Centres are at Bangalore, Bhopal, Darbhanga, Patna, Kolkata, Delhi, Ranchi, Mumbai, Srinagar. The Sub Regional Centres of MANUU are located at Hyderabad, Amravati, Jammu, Lucknow, Nuh (Mewat).
Admissions:
For academic year 2018-19, programs offered in distance mode are M.A. (Arabic, English, Hindi, History and Islamic Studies); B.A.; B.Com.; B.Sc. (Life Sciences and Physical Sciences); Diploma in (Journalism & Mass Communication and Teach English); and Certificate course in (Functional English and Proficiency in Urdu through English).
The e-prospectus and online application forms are available on University websitewww.manuu.ac.in. The last date for submission of online application formwith Registration Fee of Rs 200/- is 30thSeptember 2018.
Admission Procedure:
Admission to all programs shall be through Online Mode. The Admission portal can be accessed at http://manuu.ac.in/admissions/odl2018.Follow the steps provided on admission portal for registration, filling of application form, fee payment etc.
Eligibility Criteria:
MA (Arabic): Candidate with any degree of 3-years duration from UGC recognised Indian Universities or equivalent is eligible to apply. They should have studied Arabic as a language or as an Optional Course or as subject at graduation level or equivalent.
MA (English): Candidate with any degree of 3-years duration from UGC recognised Indian Universities is eligible.
MA (Hindi): Candidate with any degree of 3-years duration from UGC recognised Indian Universities or equivalent and should have studied Hindi as a language or as an Optional Course or as subject at graduation level or equivalent is eligible.
MA (History, Islamic Studies and Urdu):Any degree of 3-years duration from UGC recognised Indian Universities or equivalent. Candidate should have studied Urdu as a subject at any level of 10+2+3 or as medium of instruction.
B.A. B.Com and B.Sc.: For admission in B.A,. 10+2 or equivalent degree is required. Candidates having 10+2 or Intermediate degree can apply for B.Com, whereas 10+2 or Intermediate degree with science stream are eligible for B.Sc. (Life Sciences & Physical Sciences).
Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication:In the present age of electronics and internet, Journalism is gaining importance. Trained journalists are required in different fields of media. This program will help the aspirants in preparing themselves for career in journalism.Candidates with 10+2 or equivalent degree can apply for this program.
Diploma in Teach English: A one-year Diploma programme, is designed to help students and teachers of English to improve their proficiency in English. Any graduate or equivalent is eligible for admission.
Certificate Course in Proficiency in Urdu through English:The Candidate should have knowledge of English writing &reading and 18 years minimum age to be completed on 01st Oct 2018. Thiscourse will be helpful to those who are closely associated with academic institutions like libraries, archives, academies and museums.
Certificate Course in Functional English:The basic purpose of this program is to train Urdu speakers to enhance their speaking and writing abilities in English language. Learner who have passed 10th Class is eligible to take admission in this course.
