Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is said to have agreed to appoint AIMIM MLA Mumtaz Ahmed Khan for Pro-tem Speaker post.
According to the information, the Chief Minister has offered the key post to the TRS close ally AIMIM party being headed by MP Asaduddin Owaisi. Mumtaj Ahmed Khan is a six-time MLA from the Charminar Assembly constituency and KCR has offered the Pro-tem Speaker to him. The new Speaker and Deputy Speaker will take oath.
Asaduddin Owaisi today extended thanks to the Chief Minister for giving AIMIM MLA the chance of Pro-tem Speaker. The AIMIM Chief in a twitter said that Mumtaz Ahmad Khan six-term MLA of Charminar from his party will be made Pro-tem Speaker of Telangana Assembly. “I am thankful to Telangana Chief Minister KCR sahib,” Owaisi added. The Assembly is likely to be held after KCR completing Dubai tour from January 6 for three days.
