AIMIM President Vows to Teach BRS MLA a Lesson in Upcoming Elections

Asaduddin Owaisi, MP from Hyderabad and President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has stated that his party intends to teach BRS Bodhan MLA Mohd Shakil Aamir a lesson in the forthcoming assembly elections. Owaisi went to Sarangapur Jail in Nizamabad district to speak with ten people who were jailed on June 16 for allegedly attacking MLA Shakil Aamir.

Owaisi denounced the incident, claiming that the youth had just questioned the MLA about the lack of progress in the constituency and had neither used filthy language or assaulted him physically. He chastised Shakil Aamir for abusing his power and influence to imprison local youth. Shakil Aamir, according to Owaisi, will suffer the consequences of his conduct in the approaching assembly elections, and if the arrested individuals do not secure bail, they will have to spend Eid ul Adha in prison.

Owaisi further emphasised the disparity in the MLA’s response to the attack on the teenager versus a case of sexual abuse in the constituency. He questioned why the MLA did not express concern and demand restitution for the family of a minor girl raped by a relative of a BRS party councillor. Owaisi added that the constituents are outraged by the MLA’s behaviour because they previously worked for him and MLC Kavitha.

After confronting MLA Shakil Aamir about stalled development works, the Bodhan police filed a case against ten people under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including attempted murder. The altercation is said to have occurred during the MLA’s visit to inaugurate local projects. The young people involved are alleged to be members of the AIMIM party.

Owaisi had earlier chastised the Nizamabad commissioner of police, accusing him of being overbearing. According to the AIMIM, its employees were arrested for attempting to kill on the basis of Shakil Aamir’s accusation, but the commissioner did not take action when BJP representatives used obscene language against the Chief Minister and his daughter. Owaisi criticised the constituency’s imbalance in the treatment of law and order issues.
