Hyderabad:The launch of two-day eighth edition Airtel Hyderabad Marathon has been announced by the Government and Bharti Airtel along with HRS from August 25.
About 23,000 runners across the country and overseas were expected to participate in the event with around 10,000 registrations, the running event has been divided into four categories– 5K Run (August 25), 10K Run, Half Marathon (21.1 km) & Full Marathon (42.2 km) on August 26.
Mr Abhijeet says that 3,500 volunteers would be deployed to extend their helping hand to the runners. Foremost focus is the safety of runners and there will be and various medical stations with nurses and doctors to take care of the runners and entertainment throughout the race.
Mr Rao, launched the winner’s medal, T-Shirt and poster congratulated the HRS (Hyderabad Runners’ Society) for taking forward the event year-by-year said that the state government was developing many lakes while providing lots of walking space around it. Durgam Cheruvu would be inaugurated in next three weeks where it has a nice track.
Ms Aishwrya Boddapati said that she was happy to be part of this programme. She said that six Women Officers from Indian Navy had sailed around the globe.
