Andhra SEC Commissioner orders criminal case against minister Kodali Nani

Amaravati: The Commissioner of State Election Commission (SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar today ordered authorities concerned to book a criminal case against state civil supplies minister Kodali Nani for making objectionable remarks against him.

He asked Krishna district SP to book the case against the minister under sections 504, 505, and 506 of IPC. The Commissioner also asked the Minister to not speak to Media on Friday.

He also asked him to not take part in meetings and hold meetings. In his orders, he made it clear that the orders would come into force with immediate effect.

Nani made objectionable remarks against the commissioner while addressing a media conference.

The Commissioner got serious about the remarks and issued a show-cause notice to him. Ramesh Kumar asked the minister to respond to the show-cause notice by the evening of Friday.

The minister while complying with the orders replied to the notice through his advocate Chiranjeevi and said that he had great respect for the election commission. He also said that he had not made any deliberate remarks against the commission.

However, the commissioner did not get satisfied with the reply and issued orders for filing a criminal case against the Minister.
