Australia To Bring Citizens From India Soon, Bans Flights from India

While the world continue to combat another wave of Coronavirus, many countries have been suspending passenger flights to contain the virus. In the latest update, Australia has suspended flights from India.

Australia To Fly Australians From India Back Home Soon

As per the latest reports, Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Tuesday announced that as response to the current outbreak of Covid 19 in India, Australia is suspending flights until May 15. He also said that they are working to bring the Australian citizens home in the repatriation flights soon.

In a meeting of the National Security Committee, Morrison said that “we don’t think the answer is to just forsake those in India and just shut them off.”

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marise Payne reported that they have noted an increase in the number of Australians who are in India and registering with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to come home.

She said that she spoke to the High Commissioner and they spoke about the challenge of bringing Australians home amidst the rising cases in India. She added that they are all over India.

“Literally in every single corner of the country”, Payne said. She further added that it makes the process even more challenging but they will stay in touch with them and will provide every support they can.

Australia Sends Help As India Continues To Suffer From Covid 19 Treatment Emergency

In the latest update, Australia is said to be considering sending ventilators, masks, goggles and face shields to help India fight the record-breaking outbreak. Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt said that they are reaching out to the state to check for the help that can be provided to India amidst the growing emergency particularly for the supply of medical oxygen.

He said that they have a strong stockpile of non-invasive ventilators and can ship them to India as soon as possible.
