Bandi Sanjay hits out at KCR for launching BRS

Bandi Sanjay, the president of the Telangana BJP, criticized Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for launching the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), saying that KCR’s true motive is to make his son KT Rama Rao the chief minister of the state.

KCR launched the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) on Wednesday, his first step toward becoming a national party to challenge the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

In response, the Telangana BJP chief stated, “Whoever enters national politics is welcomed. However, KCR should explain what Bharat Rashtra Samiti means and how many people who were in the TRS party when it was founded are still in the same party.”

Sanjay went on to say that no one was happy at the TRS general body meeting on Wednesday.

“KCR’s plan is to appoint his son KTR as chief minister. Or what agenda has he launched the national party with?” he questioned. He also demanded that KCR dissolve the assembly because the TRS name had been changed to BRS.

“The Telangana people voted for TRS. The name of the party was changed without consulting the people who voted for TRS. The KCR government has no right to rule,” the BJP leader said.

He also challenged KCR to contest the election in the name of BRS and dissolve the government today.

CM KCR changed the name of the party and launched it at the State General Body meeting, which included ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and district-level coordinators, among other leaders, at the party headquarters Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad.

The meeting was presided over by K Chandrashekar Rao. JD(S) leader and former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, along with 20 of his MLAs, attended the TRS headquarters launch event.

Earlier this year, KCR met with former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda in Bengaluru to discuss an alternative political outfit to the BJP in his bid to unite the Opposition to take on the BJP at the Centre in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
