Bhongir MP Writes to PM; Release of funds for newly declared NH

Hyderabad: Member of Lok Sabha from Bhongir, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today addressed a letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to instruct the concerned to allocate the National Highway Number and approve the DPR and release funds for the newly announced National Highway from Hyderabad junction of ORR at Gowrelly to the junction at Kothagudem on NH 30, via Valigonda-Thorrur-Nellikundur-Mahabubabad-Yellandu in Telangana State.

Reddy pointed out that by upgrading this State Road to National Highway, the distance between Vizag Port, State of Chattisgarh and Hyderabad will reduce by 100 Kms and this road passes through tribal areas, two district headquarters i.e Mahabubabad and Kothagudem. The famous Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple, Bhadrachalam on the shores of the Godavari River, is also along this road.

‘After the road was declared as National Highway, no maintenance activity has been done in respect of this road.  Nearly 100 KM’s stretch of this road lies in my constituency.  The tender for DPR was invited way back in October 2016 and the DPR is ready.  Unfortunately, the National Highway number for the said road is yet to be allocated’, he added.
