Bhongir Municipal chairperson joins BJP

Shadnagar: Bhongir Municipal Chairperson Survi Lavanya and VII Ward counsellor Yelig Ramesh have joined the BJP in the presence of Dr K Laxman, who was on Janachaitanya yatra.
Lavanya was elected as BJP councillor, but later joined the TRS due to political compulsions. Lavanya was facing no-confidence moved by some councillors in the Municipality. Upset with this, she has decided to take shelter in her parent party. Lavanya, who got green signal from BJP leaders, went to Shadnagar and declared her joining the BJP. The duo was welcomed in the party with saffron shawls by State party chief Laxman. Lavanya said she joined the BJP to protect her self-respect and was ready to face no-confidence motion. (NSS)
