Hyderabad: Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute today inaugurated its Information Center and Clinic at Vijayawada. BIACH&RI chairman Nandamuri Balakrishna announced that foundation stone for the proposed new facility will be laid at Tullur soon.
Speaking on the occasion, Balakrishna urged philanthropists to extend a helping hand in generating resources for new facility. The BIACH&RI inaugurated its first Information Center and Clinic in the capital region of Andhra Pradesh. The facility at Kodandarami Reddy Street, Governorpet was inaugurated by Nandamuri Balakrishna, Hindupur MLA and Chairman of Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute today. The inaugural event began with a special puja performed by Balakrishna at the venue. Later he cut a ribbon to mark the formal launch of the facility. He was accompanied by Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, Speaker, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Member, Board of Trustees, BIACH&RI; Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Minister for Irrigation; Kesineni Nani, MP, Vijayawada; Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao, MLA, Vijayawada; JSR Prasad, Member, Trust Board, BIACH&RI; Dr RV Prabhakar Rao, CEO, BIAH&RI; Dr TS Rao, Medical Director, BIACH&RI; Dr Kalpana Raghunath, Medical Superintendent, BIACH&RI and other doctors and staff members of the hospital.
Earlier, Dr RV Prabhakar Rao, CEO, BIACH&RI explained the objective of setting up information center and clinic at Vijayawada. He informed that Information Center will provide all the requisite assistance for patients and will also conduct a weekly clinic on Friday and Saturday thus allowing patients at Vijayawada to undergo basic treatment at their place itself. He announced that such facilities will be inaugurated at other places also. (NSS)
