Bihar Muslim Youths Cremate Hindu Woman After Family Refuses; Video Goes Viral On Social Media

As the country continues to fight against the Covid 19 cases and the rising number of deaths, a group of Muslim youths have set a new brotherhood example for the nation in Bihar.

As per the latest reports, a group of Muslim youths recently cremated a 58 year old Hindu woman who died because of Covid 19 (reportedly). The incident happened in Bihar’s Gaya district and demonstrated another example Hindu-Muslim unity.

The video that went viral over the social media and it showed Muslim men carrying the deceased woman to cremate her. The video is reportedly from the Tetaria village under the Imamganj police station. The woman has been identified as Prabhawati Devi (58) who was admitted in a private hospital and died during the treatment.

Following this, Mohamad Shariq, a social worker in Imamganj said that when he saw her health deteriorating during the treatment, the doctors had asked for Covid 19 test. Even though the rapid antigen test appeared negative, she died eventually during the treatment.

However, the family members of the deceased suspected that she might have Covid 19 because of which they refused to touch her body. The hospital then put her body in the vehicle but neither her husband nor her two sons came forward to claim it.

Shariq said that her body was in vehicle from 12pm to 8pm as her family refused to claim it.

Once they got to know about it, Shariq said that they tried to convince their family to perform the last rites, but failed. Later he and some other members of the NGO took her body from the vehicle, collected bamboos and made the bier to take to the cremation ground. Following this, the family also came forward and gave shoulder to the bier.

The son of the deceased woman spoke to the media and said that Mohamad Shariq, Mohamad Bariq, Mohamad Rafiq and other Muslim youths helped their family in performing the last rites of their mother. He said that they have set an example of the Hindu-Muslim unity and their family is thankful for them.

Bihar Records 12,795 Fresh Covid Cases in 24 Hours

As per the latest data released, Bihar has reported a total of 12,795 cases in the past 24 hours along with 118 deaths. At the same time, the recovery rate currently stands at 77.87 percent.
