BJP leader succumbs to injuries from group clash- UP

Badaun: A BJP leader was killed in Uttar Pradesh’s Bamanpura village during a fight between two villages on Tuesday evening. The village falls under the Usanwa police circle.

Many others have been wounded in the incident in which, Krishnapal, divisional head of the BJP SC/ST Cell, lost his life due to the injuries.

The residents of Bamanpura village and its neighbouring Budhua Nagla village weren’t on good terms with each other since the separation three days back, according to reports.

The argument started when Kalyan Singh of Budhua Nagla village went to borrow an agricultural tool for a resident of Bamanpura, Anil, on Sunday. The tiff escalated into a heated dispute and 2 people got injured during this.

A day later, on Tuesday, Anil and his acquaintances filed a complaint against Kalyan Singh and his sons. They later reached Kalyan’s village infuriated and started attacking them.

The locals of the village caught Anil and his associates and took them to the police station. This exaggerated the quarrel and resulted in a clash between the residents of two residents.

When the fight got dirty, BJP leader Krishnapal, went there to resolve the matter and clear the air between them. He was caught in the clash and got brutally injured. He later succumbed to his injuries.

The leader’s body has been sent for post mortem. The villages have been equipped additional forces as the tension still prevails between the rival villages. It has been done to make sure that any future riffs don’t take place.

According to the SP (City) Jitendra Kumar Srivastava, no FIR has yet been lodged by the family of the deceased BJP leader against either of the groups. He said that the matter is under investigation by the police and he will ensure strict action to be taken against the culprits.

People have been breaking the lockdown norms due to boredom which are resulting in such situations.
