BJP’s Raja Singh lodges complaint about receiving threatening calls

Goshamahal BJP MLA T Raja Singh has filed a complaint with Mangalhat police, stating that he received threatening phone calls from anonymous individuals.

The first call, according to Singh, came late Wednesday night, with an anonymous caller threatening to kill him. When Singh asked about his identity, the caller stated that he was phoning from Pakistan.

On Thursday night, he received another anonymous call, this time from someone claiming to be from the Karimnagar district and threatening to kill him.

Mangalhat police are looking into the matter.

Raja Singh was booked by Hyderabad police for his ‘bulldozer’ remarks

The Mangalhat police of Hyderabad had booked Raja Singh for allegedly threatening Uttar Pradesh voters with ‘bulldozer’ comments.

Mr Singh did not respond to the show cause notice issued by the Election Commission of India, thus the commission directed the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Telangana to file a complaint against him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Representation of the People Act.

In accordance with the EC’s directives, the in-charge CEO, Dr Buddhaprakash Jyothi, gave a complaint to the Director-General of Police, who referred it to Mangalhat police.

Mr Singh was also barred from holding any public meetings, rallies processions, roadshows, interviews, or public comments in the media in connection with the ongoing elections for 72 hours from 6 p.m. on February 19.

Mr Singh was seen in a viral video threatening Uttar Pradesh voters with dire consequences if they voted against Yogi Adityanath’s government.

Thousands of bulldozers and JCBs have already been mobilized by Yogiji and are on their way to Uttar Pradesh. I’m sure you’re aware of what JCBs and bulldozers are used for, the MLA said.
