Hyderabad: Bonalu, a vibrant and unique folk festival, was celebrated on Sunday in the Old City of Hyderabad with a low key affair. The festival was a low key affair due to the prevailing situation of Corona and it has celebrated this year without much fun fare.
As per the appeal of the Minister of Animal Husbandary the girls and the women who throng every year to offer Bonam to the goddess, offered at their respective residences because of the Covid 19 Situation. No procession was seen this year because of the Corona effect.
Meantime the police have made the Old City fortress with the contingents of the various police branches ie Task Force, City Rapid Action Force and local police have deployed across the old city. The police have deployed near the important temples as a precautionary measure in a large number.
