BSC In Science From Philippines Not Eligible For MBBS In India: NMC Issues Notice

As per the latest reports, the apex medical schooling controller National Medical Council (NMC) has said that Indian students seeking a Bachelor’s certificate in Science in the Philippines won’t be qualified for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in India.

B.Sc In Science From Philippines In Equivalent To Class 11, 12 In India

As per NMC, B.Sc. is a pre-medical course in the Philippines with subjects like science and brain research and is like class 11 and 12 subjects in India. Subjects like life structures, natural chemistry, biophysics, and microbial science are not being educated under the degree in the Philippines, yet these are expected to make a student qualified for MBBS in India.

The commission in a notification on March 25 said that as per rules, unfamiliar medical capabilities or courses which are not identical to the MBBS course in India can’t be treated as qualified capability for enrollment to rehearse medication in the country.

“The Bachelor of Science course can’t be likened or included with MBBS course. Subsequently, after the distribution of periodical warning dated 18.11.2021 for example NMC’s FMGL Regulations 2021, the students who have proactively taken more time for any unfamiliar medical capability or course, isn’t identical to the MBBS course in India and can’t be treated as qualified capability for enrollment to rehearse medication in India,” the commission said.

BS Course Is A Basic Medical Course

“The example is the Bachelor of Science course is trailed by MD course. Notwithstanding, in BS courses the up-and-comers are not shown like subjects like Anatomy, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Microbiology and so forth, rather they are being shown Biology, Psychology and so on which is identical to class twelfth in India. Consequently, BS course is a basic degree course preceding the beginning of graduate/primary medical course regarding Indian medical schooling.

“The equivalent doesn’t qualify a possibility to be qualified for affirmation in MBBS in India,” it read.
