Hyderabad: Bypoll for Nizamabad MLC post under Local Bodies quota will be held on April 7, according to State Election Commission.
The commission released the schedule for the bypoll on April 7 and voting will begin from 8 am to 4 pm and the result will be announced on April 9 after counting of the votes polled.
The SEC said a related notification will be issued on March 12. Nominations will be accepted till March 19. The SEC will scrutinize the nominations on March 20 and withdrawals will be done by March 23.
The bypoll was caused as the MLC Bhupathi Reddy was disqualified from the Council for defecting from the TRS to the Congress. On a complaint from the TRS leaders, K Swamy Goud, then chairman of the Council had disqualified Bhupathi Reddy and also Yadava Reddy and Ramulu Naik. (NSS)
