Canada To Ease International Travel Restrictions By November 30

In the latest update, Canada’s transport ministry has said that they will have more airports to accept international passenger flights by the end of November. The strict vaccine travel requirements will be completely ruled out by the same time.

Canada To Ease Travel Restricts By The End of November 

In a press release, the Transport Ministry confirmed that by the end of November, they would be easing the travel restrictions across the country. They will also issue pan-Canadian proof of vaccination passport which would create opportunities of safe travel across the country.

By November 30, eight more Canadian airports including Hamilton, Waterloo, St John’s Saskatoon, Kelowna, Abbotsford, Regina and Victoria will be able to land international passengers.

These airports, in cooperation with the Public Health Agency of Canada, Transport Canada and the Canada Border Services Agency will be working towards implementing the measures that are necessary to start welcoming international passengers safely.

Currently, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Ottawa, Quebec City and Halifax are accepting international passengers.

Omar Alghabra, Minister of Transport on Tuesday said that the increased levels of vaccination have allowed the ministry to re-open additional Canadian airports for international passengers. This will give the travellers more access to regional airports and continue to support the Canadian government in maintaining to re-open the borders.

Conditions To Apply 

However, the ease of travel restrictions do not come without conditions. The conditions regarding allowing the international passengers across the eight other airports will be based on demand, operational capacity, the pandemic situation in Canada and further recommendations from the Public Health Agency of Canada.

At the same time, the Ministry confirmed that the restrictions might change depending on the Covid 19 situation in the country. Canada re-opened its borders for international travellers who have completed the Canada-approved Covid 19 vaccinations.

As of Tuesday, the country has 1106 new cases of Covid 19 and 29043 deaths.
