Hyderabad : In the wake of Assembly polls in Telangana on Dec 7, the Chief Election Commissioner of India is going to make a special visit to the Telangana state and segments from Oct 22 to 24. According to information CEC Om Prakash Rawath will lead a team of 10 members to Hyderabad and hold meetings with political parties on the polls.
Rawath is to take stock of the polls preparedness in all districts and discuss with the district collectors, SPs and others on the polling booths, staff for creating awareness among people to use the voting chance and security. The visit gets importance as the district officials have already been received EVMs and VVPATS and making necessary arrangements for smooth polls. Adequate number of police is being used for the fair polls.
The officials were asked to focus on checking the free flow of illegal money, liquor and violation of poll code. In a related development the CEO Rajat Kumar has instructed the officials to handover the revised voters lists to the political parties by Oct 25.(NSS)
