Celebration of Hyderabad Merger Day on Sept 17

Hyderabad:  Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) spokespersons G. Niranjan today said that the celebrations Hyderabad Merger Day officially on  September 17, would be a real tribute to Late Prime Minister P.V.Narasimha Rao during the celebrations of his centenary celebrations.

In a statement here today, he said that the TRS Government which has been celebrating PVs birth centenary on a grand scale and demanding for Bharat Ratna Award to him should take a decision to celebrate Hyderabad Merger day on September 17 officially to respect the participation of PV in Vandemataram movement, struggle against Nizam and Razakars and his organization of camps in Maharashtra. He strived for Merger of Hyderabad State into Indian Union.

Celebrating the Hyderabad Merger Day officially will be a recognition of his struggle for the people Hyderabad State.

The entity of Telangana State had become reality only because Hyderabad State was merged into the Indian Union otherwise there would not have been any entity of Telangana.  Not celebrating this historic event officially means that we are not willing to acknowledge this merger. It is unfortunate.

Earlier the Andhra rulers created hurdles for this now after the formation of Telangana State what prevents us to celebrate this Historic Event? whereas neighboring states Maharashtra and Karnataka are celebrating it officially.

If the TRS Government has sincerity and honesty towards Late  P.V.Narsimha Rao Ji it should recognize and respect his early period of life and officially celebrate the  September 17 officially as Hyderabad Merger otherwise their centenary celebrations will be a farce and politically motivated.
