Centre Announces Correctional Service Medal For Prison Personnel Ahead of Republic Day

The Center on Tuesday reported 42 Correctional Service Medals for jail staff on the event of Republic Day, 2022.

As indicated by the Union Home Ministry, the President of India has endorsed the conferment of the Correctional Services Medals for Distinguished Service for five on jail work force and 37 Correctional Service Medals for Meritorious Services.

Under the President’s Correctional Services Medals for Distinguished Service, Ayinaparthi Satyanarayana, the Head Warder of jail in Andhra Pradesh, Harish Kotwal, Jail Superintendent Jammu and Kashmir, Jail Superintendent Manjit Singh Tiwana of Punjab, and Jail Superintendent Satya Prakash Swain in Odisha and Head Warder Praveen Kumar Rathi of Delhi jail have been granted for recognized administrations delivered to their detainment facilities.

Essentially, for Correctional Service Medals for Meritorious Services, six jail staff from Madhya Pradesh, five from Andhra Pradesh, four from Delhi, three from Jammu and Kashmir, three each from Kerala, Telangana and Tamil Nadu, two each from West Bengal, Punjab and Meghalaya and one each from Nagaland, Odisha, and Manipur have been chosen for Meritorious Services.

An aggregate of 939 Police staff has been granted different decorations on the event of Republic Day-2022 out of which 189 Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG) are being granted to the security/police faculty. Among most of the 189 Gallantry Awards, 134 faculty are being granted for their brave activity in Jammu and Kashmir Region.
