New Delhi/Hyderabad: The ESI Corporation, in its 179th Corporation Body meeting chaired by Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar in New Delhi, has accorded approval for DNB courses in super-specialty departments like Cardiology, CCTVS, Nephrology, Urology, Oncology, Onco-Surgery, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Paediatric Surgery, Neonatology, Neonatal Surgery and so on.
The ESIC Institute at Sanathnagar under the Lok Sabha constituency of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy will be the first in the country to have Under-graduate and Post-graduate courses in broad specialties and super specialty courses. The initiative would pave way for better patient care and round-the-clock super specialty services at ESIC with dedicated residents and super specialists for 70 lakh workers mapped to these Hospitals.
The campus has infrastructure worth over Rs 1,000 crore. The annual budget sanctioned for the Super specialty Hospital is Rs 180 crore, in addition to Rs 200 crore for the Medical College Hospital annually. The Prime Minister has a vision for increasing the number of Broad Specialty Doctors and Super specialty Doctors for the country. The hospital was working and serving in this direction. “This further reinforces our commitment to improving the medical services to the working-class population in the country,” Union minister G Kishan Reddy said.
