Centre enhance security cover for YSR Congress MP

Amaravati: The Centre has enhanced the security cover for YSR Congress Member of Parliament Raghu Ram Krishnan Raju who is constantly in the news, pointing out flaws in the Andhra Pradesh government’s decisions.

He is receiving death threats, accordingly approached the Union Home Ministry requesting to enhance the security which in turn issued orders providing ‘Y’ category security to him.

It is learned that Raghuram Krishnaraja had recently complained to the police that the leaders of the ruling party of Andhra Pradesh were threatening to him if he entered his constituency.

Stating that his life is in danger, he wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and said that he could not go to the constituency as a member of the Lok Sabha to solve the public grievances.

He appealed to provide security with central forces, Later called on Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and called upon him for the protection as he was under threat from Ruling YSR Congress leaders of the state. He also met Union Minister of State for Home Kishan Reddy to discuss security issues and told him that he has been staying in Delhi for the past few days saying that he is under threat from the YSRCP ranks and will go to the constituency only after the government provides him security. Accordingly, the Union Home Ministry provided Y category security to Raghu Ram Krishnaraja.

Earlier the ruling party has issued a show-cause notice to him for criticizing Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy. The party asked him to clarify on his comments against party chief and state Chief Minister. Party high command has given seven-days time to him to furnish a reply.

It may be recalled that Raju has openly criticized party chief and CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy, and expressed displeasure over the fact that the chief minister was not available for meeting with public representatives and has also alleged corruption by fellow party MLAs.
