Centre showing step-motherly treatment towards Telugu States: TRS

Hyderabad: Senior TRS leader K Prabhakar today criticized the Union budget for cutting funds and tax shares to the States. Talking to media persons here on Sunday, Prabhakar accused the Centre of showing step-motherly treatment towards the two Telugu States. “The Union budget seems to press for President’s rule in the country”, he alleged. Instead of checking the slump effect, the Centre was showing a budget with a jugglery of figures. “Why there is Niti Ayog when the Centre ignored its recommendations for Rs 24,000 crore to our State? he asked.

He said the Centre was resorting to retaliation on Telangana and the Andhra Pradesh States. Reducing funds is against the federal spirit, he charged. The State BJP leaders should revolt against the Centre for reducing town development funds. He also alleged that the Centre was stalling Telangana growth programs. (NSS)
