Centre Violated Statute on Power Reforms: KCR

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today alleged that the Narendra Modi government at the Centre has violated Indian Constitution and insulted Parliament in order to implement power reforms in the country.

He also alleged that the Union government had warned the Telangana State of losing ₹25,000 crores during the next year if it did not implement the power reforms in the State.

Speaking to mediapersons at his camp office Pragathi Bhavan on Sunday, the Chief Minister showed documentary evidence to prove his claims. The Chief Minister alleged that Narendra Modi, while addressing a public meeting at Gajwel five years back, had lied to the people of the country and the State by stating that his government was providing power to Telangana State at ₹1.10 paise per unit instead of ₹11.50 paise per unit.

KCR made it clear that the Centre had never supplied power to Telangana at ₹1.10 paise per unit.

Assailing State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar for his outbursts against him, KCR said he could do nothing but to pity with the State saffron party chief for his illogical and Ill-equipped comments. “The State BJP president lacks knowledge about any issue. He is bringing disrepute to the BJP with his lack of knowledge and useless comments.

I turn pity when I see him. I don’t know if he is fully educated or not? The BJP should allow other party leaders to speak on the important issues,” he said. He made it clear that he would not make any statement without doing his home work.
