CEO asks AP DGP on TRS plaint

Hyderabad : CEO Rajat Kumar today said that he will seek clarification from Andhra Pradesh DGP about its intelligence officials are camping in Telangana and Hyderabad and allegedly distributing money to lure voters as alleged by TRS leadership. Talking to press persons at Secretariat here he said that Hyderabad is common capital for 10 years and AP police can make a move. Stating that the EC has received a plaint from TRS leadership on the issue, he said that he will take reply from AP DGP and also take advice from Telangana DGP to take necessary action.

The EC team will visit Hyderabad from Nov 24-26 and inspect polling stations for arrangements. We have taken care of providing facility for physically challenged to vote in the polls he said. The EC has allotted the election symbols for 22 political parties including Telangana Praja Samithi of Neera Kishore, Rao and Kishan (Triangle), Telangana Jana Samithi of Prof Kodandaram (Match Box), Praja Swaraj Party Road roller and others.

e informed that new list of voters with additions will be released on Nov 19 as the EC has already released the same on Oct 12, final list printed on 19 besides receiving requests for voter identity cards. He EC has expressed satisfaction at the poll arrangements and liquor influence is a bit less in the state. The officials seized Rs 31.40 cr cash and 65000 liters of liquor so far. We have asked the Centre to provide 307 companies of police personnel and forces for the polling he said. He also said that the EC will coordinate with other adjoining states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra for adequate police force for smooth polls. (NSS)
