CEO pats BLOs for hard work & DEO for efforts for smooth polls

Hyderabad: Rajat Kumar, CEO today said Booth Level Officers have to play a very vital role and appreciated the BLO for their hard work done by them till now and also praised the efforts made by the DEO for taking a lot of interest for the smooth conduct of elections, especially with regard to electoral roll works which have done very carefully with purity and clear transparency. The most important work of the BLO is take up the moral responsibility for the distribution of voter slips and EPICs to all the voters door to door involving BLA, Supervisory and connected officials for cent percent distribution.

The CEO stated that if the BLOs complete their assigned task of 100% there will be very appreciation and recognition to their work done, inspite of serious efforts made only 53 to 54 polling percentage was observed in the last elections because the voter slips are not being distributed properly, major reason is there if the BLO correctly perform their duties following the procedures given by the ECI.  The CEO said that he is 100% confident that 15% of voting percentage can be increased this time.

            Rajat Kumar, M. Dana Kishore, DEO & Commissioner, GHMC  along with Amrapali, Joint CEO, Ravi, Joint Collector, Hyderabad District and other senior officials conducted a training program for the BLOs today at the Modern Function Hall, Khairatabad. Interacting with the BLOs, the DEO said every BLO must work as a soldier in the Army and feel that he is the election officer of his polling booth by performing their duties with clear transparency to derive good results. These training programme are being conducted Assembly Constituency wise for three days to give proper training for effective work to be done at their respective polling booths following the ECI guidelines.

The DEO said that from 25th November voter slips will be distributed to the voters door to door duly coordinating with the Supervisory Officers, Booth Level Agents from the Political Parties and other persons drafted for the purpose and must obtain the signatures of the family members who have received the voter slips must be a registered voter. This process should be completed by December 1 under any circumstances with an action plan provided by the concerned RO/ERO of their Assembly Constituency. He said every official drafted for the election work should perform their duties without any absenteeism and with clear transparency failing which severe action will be initiated against them as per the provision of RP Act.

Amrapali, Joint CEO, also explained about the duties to be performed by the BLOs and briefed about the guidelines to be followed by the BLOs while taking up door-to-door distribution. She also said a lot of complaints were being received for irregular duties for which every BLO must work sincerely to achieve their target.

Shashikirana Chary, Director of Sports and Incharge Officer for Training for BLOs has given a Power Point Presentation and explained the role of BLO duly interacting with them. Earlier, the CEO, DEO, Joint CEO along with the senior officials released stickers with regard to elections at the training program. (NSS)
