Chennai: New Lockdown Restrictions Against Covid 19

The Tamil Nadu government has forced new restrictions against Covid-19 from January 1. The classes for students up to eighth grade won’t be held till January 10, the Chief Minister’s office said in a statement on Friday.

Commercial Establishments Allowed At 50% Capacity 

Commercial foundations will be allowed passage for just 50% of the limit and just 100 individuals will be taken into account in marriage functions. The participation at burial services will be confined to 50.

A wide range of exhibitions will be deferred and social, social, and political get-togethers will be limited. The Chief Minister in the statement said that eating in administrations at cafés will be permitted with 50% inhabitants.

Inns, lodges, exercise centers can work just with 50% of clients, the statement said. The Department of Public healthcare in a statement on Friday said that Tamil Nadu has now revealed 120 Omicron cases.

Chennai Corporation To Conduct Random Tests

Healthcare minister Ma Subramanian, while addressing the media, said: ‘Of the new 74 Omicron cases, 63 are in Chengalpattu, one each in Kanniyakumari, Coimbatore, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvallur, Trichy and Ranipet locale of the state. The healthcare division is observing the circumstance intently and the Chief Minister is taking periodical surveys and assuming there are more restrictions required, we should carry out them. The Union healthcare division is likewise in contact with the state healthcare authorities and I have effectively addressed the Union healthcare pastor and notified him about the circumstances in the state.`

Greater Chennai Corporation would conduct random tests for students of schools and universities for early location of cases to forestall the spread of the infection.
