Hyderabad: Telangana Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana today said they will distribute cheques to the kin of journalists in the State on Feb 19.
Talking to mediapersons at Samachar Bhavan here along with others, Narayana said the scribes will get financial assistance from Journalists Welfare Fund. Committee of the Journalists Welfare Fund has finalized the applications seeking help, he said. It was decided to provide cheques to the kin of 57 journalists, who died, and 25 others, who have suffered injuries. The cheques will be given to the related family members at Telugu University Auditorium on February 19 at 2 pm, Narayana said.
The Press Academy Chairman has said Home Minister Mahamood Ali, Council Chairman Swamy Goud, government advisor KV Ramanachary, MLAs Kranthi Kiran, S Ramlinga Reddy, Information Commissioner Arvind Kumar and others will attend the program. (NSS)
