Child rape accuse gets imprisonment for life

Hyderabad: Palthewar Srinivas, age 57years, who as accused in the kidnap and sexual assault on a three-year-old girl, was convicted with rigorous imprisonment for life and fined Rs. 5,000, by the  Sangareddy First additional District Sessions Court judge B Papi Reddy.

The accused Srinivas was a Watchman, R/o Murthinagar colony, Ameenpur Mandal, Sangareddy District, and native of Tamilnadu State. On December 31, 2017, the victim aged three years was found missing. Srinivas who had consumed liquor in a wine shop situated in front of the graveyard, LIG Colony, BHEL, who was proceeding to his house, noticed the victim who was weeping.  Thereupon, he took the victim girl, gave her a biscuit and took her to the nearby bushes and forcibly committed rape on her.

When the accused came out from the bushes along with the victim girl who was weeping, nearby persons questioned the accused, then he tried to flee from the spot, but they caught hold of the accused and handed him over to RC Puram police. The Police registered a case and interrogated the accused about the weeping victim.  He confessed about the rape, and he was remanded to judicial custody.

In this case, S. Ravi Kumar, Asst. Commissioner of Police, after completion of investigation filed charge sheet in the Court. During the trial on October 29, the  Sangareddy 1 st Addl District Sessions Court Judge  B. Papi Reddy convicted the accused Srinivas with Rigorous Imprisonment for Life and fined Rs. 5,000, police said in a press note today.
