China To Reduce Carbon Dioxide By 18% In 2025, 2035; Issues Circular

With the ongoing battle to prevent and control pollution, the Chinese authorities have issued a circular to promote the battle and to strengthen ecological protection. 
China Aims To Reduce Carbon Dioxide Emissions By 18 Percent
As per the circular released jointly by the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council, details of the major targets for improving the country’s ecological environment. Along with the total discharge of pollutants decreasing by 2025 and 2035.
The circular further said that China aims to reduce the carbon monoxide by 18 percent from the level in 2020 by 2025. In the cities that are at or above the prefectural level, the intensity of PM 2.5 will be decreased by 10 percent. Along with the proportion of days with good air quality to reach by 87.5 percent and the proportion of surface water with relatively good quality above 85 percent during the period.
The circular further said that by 2035, a green way of life and production will have been formed. The carbon emissions will stabilize and decline after reaching the peak. The circular said that the country’s ecological environment will eventually see fundamental improvement.

China’s Coal Import Nearly Doubles In October 

As per the latest reports, China’s imports nearly doubles as much coal in October since last year. As per the customs data released on Sunday, the country’s monthly purchases of coal reached 26.9 million tons in October and was increased by 96.2% since last year.
However, it was down by 18.2 percent from 32.9 million tons in September. Chinese authorities have rushed to address a coal shortage in the country since last September. This comes after many of the factories were forced to cut down their production.
