CM chairs Cabinet, discusses Pragathi Nivedan meet, early elections

Hyderabad: Even as political circle is abuzz with early elections in the State, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today called a special meeting with his cabinet ministers raising eye-brows of politicians and people alike who are not so keen about advancing the Assembly elections in Telangana State.

KCR chaired a meeting at Pragathi Bhavan on Wednesday and discussed with them on proposed Pragathi Nivedana Meeting in the city outskirts on Sept 2. According to information, the chief minister is keen to hold early elections probably in December by dissolving the Assembly in Sept by advancing the Monsoon session for a few days. As a prelude, the Chief Minister and TRS Supremo held a crucial meeting with party senior leaders and the ministers and preparing them for the elections if advanced by a few months.

The media is prominently writing about early elections followed by KCR’s recently held TRS meeting in Telangana Bhavan in which he gave a hint in this regard. Expecting a positive sign from the CEC and reportedly getting nod of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the TRS boss is just thinking of early elections. If that is the case, the new state may go in for early elections probably in December when four other states are going to polls. Having got a report of performance of the leaders in all segments, KCR is said to have prepared a list of the candidates which is likely to see the light in September. (NSS)
