Hyderabad: In a significant development Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today extended one more year the services of NVS Reddy as Managing Director of the famous Hyderabad Metro Rail project. The State Government today issued orders in this regard. In a release Principal Secretary Municipal Administration Arvind Kumar issued orders to this effect on Saturday. Arvind Kumar appreciated that N V S Reddy as the MD of the project successfully tackled various contentious and sensitive issues and satisfactorily handled the hurdles that were encountered in the implementation of the project.

The stretch of 30 kms from Miyapur to Nagole has been commenced, works in remaining stretches from Ameerpet to LB Nagar (16kms), Ameerpet to Hitec City (10 kms) and JBS to MGBS (10 kms) are being readied for commercial operations in the next few months he said. Most of the project works are in advanced stage of completion, being a capital intensive and high risk investment PPP project there are still several challenges and contentious issues which need to be handled with considerable tact, dedication and expertise. Arvind Kumar further said that implementation of urban rejuvenation works in the remaining metro rail stretches in the core city, execution of multilevel car parking and smart parking projects in PPP mode and raising resources for execution of Phase two of the metro rail project are some of the other challenges which need to be handled in a similar way.
