West Godavari: The Chief Minister of the state YS Jaganmohan Reddy today expressed his anger over a false publicity campaign about the Polavaram Irrigation Project.
He said that those who are against the government were carrying out a false campaign by claiming that the height of the project was being reduced. He made it clear that there was no question of reducing the height of the project and added that the FRL of the project would be 45.72 meters.
He also said that the top of the main dam level would be 55 meters. He made these remarks during a review meeting with the officials concerned. The CM also inspected the project through aerial view before holding the review meeting.
During the review meeting, he asked the officials to complete the project works at the earliest. He asked them to take steps to provide water to the Kharif crop from the project by the end of 2022.
While reviewing the construction work at the Polavaram Project site, Hon'ble CM @ysjagan said that rehabilitation & resettlement is as crucial as the project itself. The CM asked the officials to take up the rehabilitation programs simultaneously. He assured the project oustees that he would do justice to them. The CM asked the officials to complete the works of the spillway and spill channel by the end of March next year.
The state irrigation minister Anil Kumar was accompanying the CM during the visit. The CM later inspected the cofferdam and observed its works.
